Quick loss for women’s volleyball against George Washington

Sacramento State volleyball had a quick 0-3 loss against George Washington University for its first game at the Valparaiso Crusader Invitational this weekend (18-25,19-25,21-25).
In the first set of the match the Hornets hit their highest at .167 with 11 kills. This is the women’s best set in amount of kills from the match.
Sac State had a total of five errors in the first set and a total of 36 attacks.
The Hornets hit their worst at -.020 in the second set. It was also their highest amount of errors in the match at 11.
The squad tallied 49 attacks with a total of 10 kills in the second set. They were competitive in this set, but fell short 19-25.
Sac State had its closest match with a score of 21-25 in the final set. The team improved from their second set, hitting .129. They contained five errors and nine kills, which was their lowest amount of kills in the match.
Coach Ruben Volta said he wants his team to start fresh tomorrow and focus on better passing.
“We need to play better in a lot of different areas,” Volta said.
This match puts the Hornets with an overall record of 4-9 this season. The women will conclude the tournament tomorrow, facing Valparaiso University and Murray State.
