William leads men’s golf to a ninth-place finish

Sacramento State Men’s golf finished this afternoon tied for ninth at the Lone Star Invitational in San Antonio, Texas. Senior Ryan Williams helped Sac State by tying for sixth overall individually.
Williams finished the Lone Star Invitational at even par with a 54-hole score 216, 70-74-72. The senior rebounded himself after a 2-over-par second round, with an even par third round. Williams ended the invitational by collecting 10 birdies, five bogeys and two double-bogeys.
Sophomore Owen Taylor ended the invitational tied 45th overall with a 13-over-par 229, 78-75-76. Taylor shot five birdies, but showed a struggle as he collected 12 bogeys and 3 double-bogeys.
Sophomore Eric Taylor had trouble getting the ball in the cup with a 54-hole score of 18-over-par 234, 81-72-81. Taylor managed to collect three birdies, 10 bogeys and five d ouble-bogeys. The sophomore ended the invitational tied 60th overall individually.
Junior Jordan Weir ended the three day invitational on today with a 24-over-par 240, 75-83-82. His effort earned him a 70th-place tie. Weir was able to collect five birdies, but also 11 bogeys, four double-bogeys and two triple-bogeys.
Junior Jordan Swanson ended up pulling out after the second round, but played solid in the two rounds. Swanson ended his first round with three birdies, one triple-bogey and 14 pars. He ended the second round with three birdies, nine bogeys and six pars.
Sac State is traveling to Southern California to play in the Bill Cullum Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.
