Halloween is a time to dress up and go all out with your costume, but just because you’re wearing a costume doesn’t mean you should neglect your nails.

Nail art is a great way to decorate your nails when you get tired of the same monochromatic nail polish. This simple Kandy Korn nail design is perfect for those who want to wear everything and anything that has to do with Halloween. These nails are also perfect if you don’t want to get decked out in a costume, but want to keep things festive.

You’ll need:

3 nail polishes (orange, yellow and white)

Tape (Can use any tape, but painter’s tape is preferred)

Base coat

Top coat

1) Add a base coat to your nails to keep them from staining. Once the nails are completely dry, add one coat of orange nail polish. It’s important to keep the layers of nail polish a little thin so they don’t take forever to dry and will be easier to tape.

2) Once the nails are dry, tape your nails and cover 1⁄4 of your nails with tape. This will create the line for the yellow. Don’t press down too hard because if you do, you can strip the nail polish off when you peel the tape. Nobody likes to start over when their nails are halfway done.

3) Use the yellow nail polish and paint over the orange. If you get some yellow on the tape, it’s OK because it will act as a barrier for the orange underneath. Wait for the nails to completely dry.

4) Take the white nail polish and add a strip of white near the tip of your nails. It’s okay if it’s not perfect because candy corn doesn’t have perfect lines anyway.

5) When your nails are dry, slowly remove the tape. Be careful because the tape could remove some of the nail polish. Add top coat for shine and to keep your candy corn nails from chipping. With nails looking this sweet, who needs to go trick or treating for candy?
