Following the August release of their new album “Fasciinatiion,” Indie band The Faint will be coming through Sacramento State Friday.

The Faint first came together in Omaha, Nebraska, and is known for its dance-punk/new wave style of music.

This will be the first time in five years that the band will have come to Sacramento.

“This’ll be a special show for The Faint fans. They don’t have to travel to San Francisco where the band often plays when they are in the area,” UNIQUE Programs director Zenia Diokno said.

Diokno also said that they put on a fantastic concert with a lot of energy and lighting effects.

“It’s for anyone who loves to dance, wants a great show, or needs to discover new music,” UNIQUE Volunteer Ali Haas said.

The upcoming show has fans excited as well.

“I like all kinds of music, but I like The Faint because I have a lot of fun listening to them,” undeclared major Lelani Yuen said.

Natalie Portman’s Shaved Head, from Seattle, will be opening the show. The band plays electronica/rock, and in July, released its debut album, “Glistening Pleasure.”

The concert will be held in Sac State’s University Union Ballroom Friday at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available at tickets.com or the Union Box Office for $15 for students and $20 for general admission.

“It is unlikely that you will find yourself not having a good time. The Faint are amazing, especially live,” Haas said.
