Our fault budget isn’t done
September 11, 2008
We are not mad enough about not having a state budget for it to make a difference. We may fuss a little bit or shake our head and sigh, but what does that do?
Actually take the time to call your local lawmakers and let them know just how pitiful they are.
Forget about ourselves for a moment, if that is at all possible. Ignore the fee increases and service cuts that are bound to sodomize the California State University system when a budget eventually gets passed. Understand how much healthcare is currently suffering and that state-run daycare centers have closed their doors for weeks now because our diligent men and women in those red and green rooms at the Capitol are doing such a bang-up job. Realize that business across the state is grinding to a halt because these pathetic paper pushers collectively sit on their thumbs and there are no consequences.
They also have no initiative or incentive to get to work because they don’t care about you. That statement is not for dramatic effect. They honestly don’t give a crap about you.
Is there any other line of work where you can be well over two months late with a vital project and not get fired? Their job is great. Fantastic pay, benefits and a corner office overlooking easy street and doolittle avenue.
The only thing left to do is make the best of our legislator’s trailblazing incompetence. Call your local lawmaker or stuff their email boxes with complaints. These calls and emails don’t have to be G-rated either. In a time like this it is truly cathartic to put a lawmaker on speed dial and carpet bomb their voicemail with profane calls about how simple their job is. Lace into them. They deserve it.
Remind them that you will not vote for them when their name comes up next time. Fire these slothful mongoloids.
