Horrible Hornet hussy

State Hornet

When Howard Stern wants nothing to do with you, you know you have gone too far. Natalie Dylan, who is using a fake name for security purposes, is the latest Sacramento State alumnae to publicly humiliate this university.

It wasn’t enough for two of our most famous graduates to be a horse-faced Playboy playmate and a dumpy drunk on “The Real World.” Dylan had to go announce to the world that she was going to sell her virginity to the highest bidder. The media ran with it, pretending to be shocked and disgusted the whole time.

She believes her flower is worth up to a million dollars when the Hornet believes her existence is hardly worth mentioning on ink and paper.

It’s a sad day for a college when it’s most notable graduates are frumpy harlots and glorified prostitutes. That’s all Dylan is. She is no better or worse than any streetwalker patrolling Richards Boulevard.

Dylan’s saga is depressing because she is doing this because she wants to do her post-graduate work in marriage and family studies. The only way she will help anyone is if people use her life as an example of how not to live.

Having earned her bachelor’s degree in women’s studies, it’s hard to believe one of the classes she took didn’t inform her of what a terrible life choice prostitution is.

She’s opening herself up, literally, to a world of sexual assault and disease. What she does with her body is her choice, but the press shouldn’t glamorize her half-baked logic.

To Dylan, what she is doing is no big deal. “We live in a capitalist society,” she said, justifying her behavior in her eyes.

She only sees it as just one night. But one night, one bad decision can ruin your life. It can be a DUI, a fit of rage or an ill-conceived night of passion.

Even if she is a virgin and free from sexually transmitted diseases, the man who wins the bidding war may not be so virtuous. She also misses the point that she is a prostitute, and has no say in what the guy who pays for her does to her. If he “forgets” to tell her he has HIV and he doesn’t use a condom, she’s out of luck.

Dylan made her choice, and if it haunts her for the rest of her life it would be exactly what she earned. If there were justice in the world, she would struggle to be anything other than a prostitute until the day she died.

The saddest part in all of this is that there are countless girls who have had prostitution forced upon them and would love to have the chance to go to college and never have to turn another trick again.
