It was a steady day for competition Track and Field coach Kathleen Raske said, as it was mostly decathletes and heptathletes competing on Thursday evening in the first day of the Nike Elite Meet.

Freshman heptathlete Moira Robinson took second in the 110 hurdles in early competition for the multi-events.

Naima Goodwin is experiencing hamstring problems and will not be finishing her competition in Friday’s meet.

For the men, decathlete Robert Brazier is doing well in his multi-event competition on the first of day of the three day meet, Raske said.

“We are ready for the competition and our athletes are ready to go. We still have some athletes a little banged up, but the first week of outdoor training was light so that helped them recover a little for this big meet,” Raske said.

Friday competition will start this afternoon at Hornet stadium and will end at 7 p.m.
