San Francisco is too much for men’s tennis, wins 5-2

The Sacramento State men’s tennis team lost to San Francisco 5-2 Friday at the Olympic Club in San Francisco.

Sophomore Anton Stryhas and freshman Artur Klimenka won their singles matches in dominant fashion on the scoreboard.

Stryhas defeated Asaf Cohen 6-2, 6-2 and Klimenka defeated Einar Hart 6-1, 6-2. Stryhas is now 10-1 in singles this season.

In doubles play the Hornets were narrowly defeated. The team had split the first two matches and the third match went to a tiebreaker in which sophomore Holding Ching and freshman Ronan Conlon lost a heartbreaker.

With the loss the Hornets’ record drops to 5-6. They play St. Mary’s at 1 p.m. on Saturday and Santa Clara at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
