Bar near university closes

The Library Eats and Drinks, a dance club and concert venue adjacent to Sacramento State, officially closed its doors in late August.

The closure came after the bar’s liquor license was suspended for not serving food, a violation of the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. The venue’s license had been suspended once before after employees were caught serving alcohol to minors.

The club was is also known as the location where Sac State student Kebret Tekle, 20, was shot and killed last May.

The venue is presently fenced off with a “For Lease” sign in the parking lot.
