Hornets dominate first match of USF invitational

The Hornets beat host San Francisco in the first round of the University of San Francisco Invitational Friday night. The Hornets beat San Francisco in a 3-0 match (30-21, 30-23, 30-14). Senior Missie Stidham led all players with 17 kills. Senior Lindsay Haupt also added to the Hornets offense, adding nine kills and posting a match-high six blocks. The Hornets were on fire last night, posting a season-high .382 hitting percentage. The offense dominated at the net also, holding San Francisco to 35 kills and no team member was allowed more than eight kills.

Sacramento State will continue the tournament Saturday afternoon taking on Xavier and 14th-ranked Cal Poly that evening.

All matches are taking place in the War Memorial Gym in San Francisco.
