Students talk about woes of buying books late

The new semester has begun, and that means that it is time to head to the bookstore to go and buy books.

Diane Lee, a Kinesiology major who works for the bookstore, said the most important thing that people should do when they come to buy their books is to buy them as soon as possible once you know what your classes are going to be.

“People only started really buying their books yesterday, but there are orders for books from two weeks ago, and people just have not come to pick them up,” Lee said.

Josh Hammon, a history major, said he did not come and buy his books sooner because he was just to lazy to come and buy them.

“I was just too lazy to come in early, and I was enjoying my Christmas vacation,” Hammon said.

Hammon also said he did come in today expecting long lines, but he was pleasantly surprised that the lines were not long at all.

Nichole Schulze, is a social work major, said she was too lazy to come and buy her books before school started, but she also said she was surprised that the lines were so short especially for the first week of school.

Lee also said there are other advantages to coming and buying books before school starts.

“Please come in early to buy your books because the people that come in early are going to be able to get the used books, and so they will save money compared to people that come in after school has started and then we might have run out of the used books,” Lee said.
