Lobby Corps did the work, not ASI

Laura Hall

I am just correcting you on something you wrote in your column of the Oct. 9 issue.

You mentioned that ASI registered approximately 500 people to vote in a voter registration drive they held. Well, the truth is that Lobby Corps registered those voters. I think the members of Lobby Corps should have been given credit for the VERY HARD work they do- NOT ASI. Lobby Corps is a fairly small student run workteam- all volunteers. The members aren’t paid like many of the people in ASI.

Yes, Lobby Corps gets a small budget from ASI- but legislation for that- I believe it was $1000-was just passed at the end of last school year.

Just thought you should know that ASI isn’t directly responsible for the awareness that you are going to see happening around campus. Lobby Corps is the force behind it all.
