A maintenance worker is alleging labor law violations ranging from unsafe working conditions to intentional humiliation by the CSUS Foundation, according to a lawsuit filed in June.

The foundation is a private non-profit organization that oversees many of the university?s business functions, including payroll and maintenance.

The plaintiff, Patrick Snyder, alleges that the foundation made his working conditions intolerable after he reported them for Cal/OSHA violations.

Among the list of complaints are claims that the foundation reduced his work assignments and instructed other employees not to speak to him after he made the report.

In the lawsuit, Snyder claims that the situation caused him so much distress that he had no choice but to go on disability.

Although the foundation declined to comment on the matter, their answer lists 13 points of defense, including a claim that the case exceeds the one-year statute of limitations.

The case will be heard at the Sacramento Superior Court of California on March 18.
