Visual Language Coming to Life at Sac State

Rose Dinelli

Flipping through the yellow pages, desperately searching for a new andexciting restaurant, then suddenly you see an ad that uses such a vision offood, that you can taste the butter dripping down your spaghetti.

Graphic designers are behind the images that you see, the images that makeyou feel sad, happy, or even alone. A disarray of colors to create a moodthat speaks out visually to capture its intended audience.

Sacramento State will roll out the red carpet for alumni graphic design students, who have given it their all in their field and have made their names inbright lights in the world of graphic design.

Coming out into life from their portfolios will be a combination of designs, such as, logos for businesses, brochures, web pages, posters, magazine adds, and new page layouts.

Graphic Designers can be somewhat hidden and taken for granted. They are thevoice behind the design and usually the business or the company gets all thecredit, but it is really the graphic designer that makes it all happen.

A hot rock band puts up a poster board and it really knocks your socks off,you attend the concert and it was everything you expected it to be. Themusic rocked and it sounded just like the poster looked. A graphic designertakes a product and envelopes a market all around it bringing it to life.
