Protest in Library Quad

A Tuesday afternoon protest in the Library Quad brought outapproximately 70 people who voiced concern about the actions of campuspolice when they made three arrests at the Causeway Classic footballgame 18 months ago.

The group also protested The State Hornet newspaper’s publishingof a photo of the arrest, and demanded an apology of the current staff.

The group held home-made posters stating “WARNING: not all cops are goodguys!” and a Mexican flag while chanting “Viva La Raza.”

“We the students want an apology for what was written and done to Chavezbrothers” read a sign with a photo taken from The State HornetNewspaper.

The group also marched through the University Union to the offices ofthe newspaper where they presented a petition demanding an apology,
