How far would someone go just to be in the spotlight? Some people maycommit murder.
This is the idea behind the upcoming film, “15 Minutes,” released by NewLine Cinema.
“15 Minutes” is a crime drama directed by John Herzfield (2 Days in theValley) and starring acclaimed actor Rober DiNiro and Edward Burns She?sthe One).
The film features DiNiro portrayal of Eddie Fleming, a homocidedetective trying to catch two alleged murderers who happen to sell tapesof their crimes to the media for money and fortune. Burns plays JordyWarsaw, an arson detective who is trying to solve an arson crime whichwas a cover up for a double homocide that the same two alleged murdererscomitted.
Another character who adds to this gritty movie includes Kelsey Grammer, who is best known as Dr. Frasier Crane from the television shows”Cheers” and “Frasier.” Grammer plays Robert Hawkins, tabloid newsanchor who will stop at nothing to break an important news story.
Also, Melina Kanakaredes (of the NBC television series “Providence”)plays Nicolette, Eddie?s (DiNiro) field-reporter girlfriend. Throughoutthe movie, Eddie prepares to propose to Nicolette, which brings someromance to the film.
“It?s a very oritinal and inventive story,” Grammer said of the film,”It puts the issues before you in a veryexciting and contemporary way.”
