Have you ever wanted to know what the best scary movies of all-time were? Well, there is not any scientific way of finding out, but here’s a start.

1. The Exorcist (1973)- The Plot: A 12-year-old girl is possessed by the devil and her only hope is an exorcism.

2. Psycho (1960)- The Plot: A young female embezzler arrives at the Bates Motel, which has terrible secrets of its own.

3. The Shining (1980)- The Plot: A young boy and his parents become caretakers of an isolated and haunted hotel.

4. Jaws (1975)- The Plot: A police chief, a scientist, and a grizzled sailor set out to kill a man-eating shark that is menacing a seaside community.

5. Poltergeist (1982)- The Plot: Ghosts take a liking to the daughter in a family that resides in the home they are haunting.

6. A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)- The Plot: In the dreams of his victims, a murderer stalks the children of the members of the lynch mob that killed him.

7. Halloween (1978)- The Plot: A psychotic murderer institutionalized since childhood escapes to kill his sister while his doctor chases him through the streets.
