Clubs recruit in the Quad
September 20, 2000
Sports clubs, cultural and professional groups, fraternities and sororities are just some of the organizations that set up booths around the library quad Thursday for Student Involvement Day.
The aim of the day is to encourage students to become involved in campus life by taking advantage of more than 250 clubs and organizations on campus, according to Student Activities, the sponsor of the event.
The annual event is an opportunity for students at Sac State to find out what the clubs and organizations on campus are all about. It is time when each organization has a chance to show what they have to offer.
“A number of groups have seen an increase in membership after Student Involvement Day,” said Lou Camera, the director of Student Activities.
Representatives from each booth were available to talk and answer questions about their respective organizations.
In addition, cultural groups had food representing their respective cultures while other booths offered refreshments.
Located on the third floor of the University Union, the Student Activities Office provides general advisement, leadership development programs, and access to University resources to the various organizations at Sac State. It also organizes volunteer service programs with the Sacramento community.
