Sac State student arrested on suspicion of rape, charges dropped

A Sacramento State student was arrested Monday for allegedly raping an acquaintance, according to a Sac State Police Department press release.
Jonathan Troy Lee, 18, was being held at the Sacramento County Jail Tuesday on $150,000 bail, according to the Sacramento County Jail website.
He allegedly raped a female acquaintance Monday in the American River Courtyard residence hall, the release states.
The victim, who is also a Sac State student, reported the assault to authorities, the release states. Her name is being withheld due to confidentiality, police said.
Lee was booked into jail on suspicion of felony rape, according to the jail website.

Editor’s note: Jonathan Lee has been released on bail and prosecutors have dropped charges against him. According to KCRA 3’s website, the District Attorney dropped the charges against Lee due to insufficient evidence.
