Mixin’ it up with Moosh

State Hornet

Steve Mooshagian finished his first year at the helm of theSacramento State football program with a record of 2-9 overall and1-6 in the Big Sky. On Saturday the Hornets finished their seasonwith a 26-14 loss to Weber State. The State Hornet sat down withthe coach for a quick Q & A.

Q: Coach, what was the best moment of the 2003 season?

A: The best moment of this season was the way we played againstIdaho State. They were ranked in the top 10 and we went in andknocked them out. That was one of the few times I felt we werehitting on all cylinders.

Also, just seeing the guys hang together through the tough timesand not quit made me very proud.

Q: What was the worst moment of the season?

A: The last drive in the Causeway was very disappointing andfrustrating. Lead (Ryan Leadingham) going down was bad, followedclosely by losing Tyronne (Gross). We went from the penthouse tothe outhouse pretty quick.

Q: The worst dressed player on the team?

A: Mohammad’s (Warrad) long pants look like everyoneelse’s shorts. He wore all of his old Sac State T-shirts fromwhen he first got here. They had been washed up, faded and were tootight.

Q: What kind of music is spinning in your CD player?

A: Angus (McClure) was the CD man so we could have had anything. We had everything from 50 Cent to Santana. Nelly was thrown inthere too. You have to keep up being around all these young guysall the time.
