Parlare Euro Lounge steps up downtown

Light, hip and fun, that’s just what downtown needs. The entrance is small and unnoticeable but what lies inside is modern mixed with elegance.

Parlare Euro lounge is something of a hybrid. It can easily go from restaurant to bar to nightclub in just a few easy steps. Upon entering, you are automatically greeted with pure, unadulterated sexiness, but not in a raunchy sort of way. The dim lighting, candles and ambiguous music help set the mood for what may be a romantic dinner, quick drink or a night on the town with the girls. A trendy yet tranquil water fountain follows you as you make your way up the staircase. Feast your eyes on this restaurant and you can definitely tell you are downtown.

Parlare Euro lounge screams downtown and in a good way. Not in a pretentious way like some bar/lounge/restaurants that populate the downtown area. It definitely feels like the place to be on any given night during the week.

The vibe of Parlare is extremely cool. It almost felt like I wasn’t cool enough to be there. Word to the wise: make sure to dress sharply to fit in with the rest of the chic crowd. There was no sign of slovenly dressed men or women there.

It’s quite easy to see how the location makes an easy transition from nightclub to restaurant and because it seems so fluid. At Parlare, one can easily grab a quick appetizer like calamari and make there way to the dance floor right after. Booths are set up along the wall of the restaurant but high bar-like tables also populate the restaurant and although the booths are cozy, the tables could stand to be a lot larger given the generous size of the booths. Not the mention the VIP rooms which looked fashionable and quite expensive, but on the right night it would be worth it.

As a whole, the entire place is pretty breathtaking. The bars are gorgeous and need we mention, they have two full bars.

Parlare Euro lounge centers most of its meals around an Italian cuisine.

The food left a little to be desired. The spicy tortellini dish was good but it lacked the oomph! A sprinkle of basil would have given it. The presentation on the other hand was magnificent. The tortellini was housed in a stylish, square bowl.

The portions were pretty generous but it is apparent that the price of food definitely pays for the ambiance of Paralare, that and the drinks. A simple meal of spicy tortellini and a Shirley Temple came to $15, not the most expensive meal but if you are on a college budget, you may want to hold off on splurging on the food and just splurge on the club portion of the Parlare.

Parlare looks like the place that has all the potential in the world and with good word-of-mouth, it can, without a doubt, become one of the hottest and trendy places to be at in Sacramento.
