Sacramento County Sheriff?s Deputies are still investigating an alleged forcible rape of a female resident of Jenkins Hall that occurred Wednesday, August 30.

According to deputies, the incident occurred off-campus near La Riviera Drive and Watt Avenue but the crime was also reported to Campus Police after the victim returned to campus and was observed being consoled by acquaintances.

Sheriff?s Deputies have declined to comment on whether they are looking for more than one assailant.

Campus Police also said that the assault occurred off campus and that all investigations are being handled by the Sacramento County Sheriff?s Department.

“This happened in the county, it did not happen on campus,” said John Hamrick, Director of Sacramento State Public Safety.
