(he/him) Jack Freeman joined The State Hornet in Spring 2022 as a staff writer and is currently a senior majoring in journalism, graduating in spring of 2025. He returns as the Editor-in-Chief and resident indoor football aficionado. He hopes to pursue a career covering collegiate sports professionally.

(she/her) Brionna Woody is a senior public relations major and is currently entering her fourth semester with The State Hornet. She spent the last three semesters working within the visuals section, including a semester as visuals editor, before becoming a managing editor. She hopes to work towards a career in sports media and marketing.

(she/her) Nancy Rodriguez was born and raised with a love for her Latino culture and community in Santa Ana, CA. She is passionate about DEI and hopes to work in broadcast journalism. This is her third year working at The State Hornet and she currently holds the position of managing editor.

(she/her) Jocelyn Hill is a political science and journalism major returning for her third semester at The State Hornet. She is originally from Irvine and enjoys drawing, running and spoiling her dog. Jocelyn is eager to continue working as a copy editor with The State Hornet.

(she/her) Rinn Lee joined The State Hornet in Fall 2023. After two semesters as a sports staffer covering softball and soccer, she is now in her second semester as a copy editor for The Hornet. She is a junior journalism major, set to graduate in Spring 2025 and hopes to go into book publishing.

(he/they) Finneas Brumbaugh joined The State Hornet in Fall 2024. He is a political science and journalism major in his third year hoping to go into a career in investigative journalism. He is originally from San Francisco and enjoys writing, drawing and cooking.

(she/her) Leah Stewart is a fourth-year journalism major and a returning social media editor. This is her third semester with The State Hornet. She hopes to have a career in film or public relations and enjoys movies, music and books.

(she/her) Isabella Nyiri is a fourth-year journalism major with hopes of working in PR or management for the music industry. She joined The State Hornet in Fall 2023 working with PR and social media. She is now in her second semester as a social media editor. In her free time she loves listening to music, dance and finding new coffee shops.

She aspires to work in health communications or with nonprofits within the Sacramento area. In her free time, she enjoys kayaking and checking out new coffee shops with friends.

(he/him) Sharmarke Holif is a journalism major in his senior year. He is absolutely obsessed with fantasy stories like JRR Tolkein's "The Lord of the Rings" and Andrzej Sapkowski's "The Witcher." He plans to earn a master's degree and doctorate so that he can become a professor of journalism.

(she/her) Jade Brown grew up in the cowboy capital, Oakdale, and now goes to school in the state capital. This is her first year on The State Hornet and first year in pursuit of a bachelor's degree in journalism. Jade spends her free time baking gourmet cookies and making soup in her dutch oven.

He isn't quite sure what he wants to do in journalism, but he enjoys writing, playing games with friends, developing recipes in the kitchen and reading in his free time.

He aims to work in fields related to arts and entertainment as he enjoys exploring pop culture and its history. Interning for The Observer over the summer and currently working for FOX Sports Sacramento Radio, Harts aspires to build a career in sports media.
