Stingless Hornets suffer a huge loss to UNLV 38-3

The Sacramento State football team fell to the UNLV Rebels 38-3 in its first official game of the 2009 season.
Within minutes, nine plays and 68 yards calculated into the first touchdown of the game for the Rebels.
Quarterback Omar Clayton, of UNLV, was slowed up by senior defensive lineman Ryan Shinar a few times as well.
By the second quarter, the Hornets held the Rebels to 10 points by the end of the half. Sac State then made a 44-yard field goal with only 1:43 left to the half. The score was 10-3 at the half.
By the middle of the third quarter, UNLV was up by three touchdowns.
Sophomore running back Terrance Dailey ran for approximately 100 yards, while defensive backs Deionte Gordon and Zach Schrader finished with 13 tackles apiece.
With the loss, the Hornets will start out the season 0-1. The team will then continue its road trip and face off against Cal Poly Sept 12. The kickoff will begin at 4 p.m.
