Women’s golf place 10th in Pat Lesser Harbottle invitational

The Sacramento State women’s golf team finished in 10th place with an overall score of 935 at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational at the Tacoma Country and Golf Club in Tacoma, Washington.

Astha Madan finished with the fewest strokes, as she had an overall score of 232, posting an 80 in the first round, a 77 in the second and a 75 in the third, which was good enough to place 31st out of the 88 golfers.

Her best round came in the third when she played consistent golf, paring 15 holes and bogeying just three.

Chloe Bartek and Katie Dunaway both finished in a tie for 39th, just two strokes behind Madan with overall scores of 234.

Bartek had her best round in the second when she finished the front nine at even par and finished just two over par on the back nine with one double bogey on the 10th to go along with a bogey and a birdie.

Dunaway had her best round in the first shooting an even par 72 with three birdies and three bogeys.

She then went on to post back-to-back scores of 81 in the next two rounds.

Rockelle Sande had the only eagle of the tournament in the second round when she finished the fourth hole in just two strokes.

Sande finished the tournament with an overall score of 240, which put her in 58th place.

Julia Becker golfed consistently also, shooting an 82 in the first round, an 81 in the second and a 78 in the third improving her score after each round.

The team will have its next tournament on Oct. 20 in Oahu, Hawaii, at the Leilehua Golf Course in the Rainbow Wahine Invitational.
