Uncle Vito’s is most popular for pizza by the slice. Located on 16th Street between O and P, this pizzeria is a tasty treat for late-night cravings and friendly service.
It is located in the heart of midtown and near other eateries such as Pronto and Togo’s.
Food:Uncle Vito’s has large slices of pizza with real fresh toppings. My favorite is the pineapple and Canadian bacon. The slices are thin and the crust is thick. The Fontanini Italian Sausage is to die for. Any pizza lover would love to bite into a slice of this heaven.
The pizza is perfect for the Sacramento locals looking for a place to get their grub on after a late night at the bar. Uncle Vito’s is a convenient solution to a late-night craving.
Value:A slice of cheese pizza costs $3, and additional toppings are 50 cents each. Regular-sized pizzas are also available. A 20″ cheese pizza is $18, and extra toppings are $2 each. Compared to other pizza eateries, Uncle Vito’s is reasonably priced.
The restaurant also has Happy Hour Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. or Thursday through Saturday from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m., where $5 will get you a beer and a slice of pizza.
Service:The service is fast and friendly. The server made a mistake on the order but quickly fixed it. Your beverages are refilled promptly and the staff is friendly with customers.
Environment:The environment is one of the best things about this restaurant. It is small and cute. Walk in and order at the bar, then have a seat. Three sports channels entertain on the large-screen TV’s.
They also play music during the day. Bands such as Nine Inch Nails and The Killers were playing on the satellite radio. Near the bar are round tables that sit high off the ground. The small restaurant is covered in New York City-style posters. Famous iconic black and white photos cover one wall.
Uncle Vito’s is attached to Pronto, an Italian restaurant. The restrooms and ATM machine divide the separate rooms.
Overall:Uncle Vito’s makes a great lunch stop if you work in the area or around the Capitol. In the afternoon you will find couples with their children enjoying pizza and soda. During the evening it may be difficult to get to the bar because most nights the restaurant is crowded.
The restaurant only accepts cash and is open Monday through Wednesday 11:30 a.m. to midnight, Thursday and Friday 11:30 to 2 a.m. and Saturday noon to 2 a.m. Dine in and carry out are available
