Valentine’s Day is a big deal to many people and it can sometimes be difficult to think of fun inexpensive gifts that women in your life would enjoy. “The Hornet” went shopping at the K Street Mall for gifts for that special woman in your life.

The theme at Bath and Body Works this year is “Red Hot.” They have a seasonal scent called Red Hot Love Story, which is a “body wash, bubble bath and shampoo with a cinnamon fragrance.” Red Hot is on sale for $8.

The already made gift baskets at Bath and Body Works are also available if you’re in a time crunch and need something quick and easy. Bath and Body Works also has a fragrance called Romance, which highlights this time of year.

Michelle Bible, employee of K.B. Toys, said a fun gift idea is a teddy bear. It is the most obvious gift but also the most classic. The teddy bears range from $10 to $14.99 each. K.B. Toys also carries Valentine’s Day Beanie Babies.

Rachel Fahardo, employee of the boutique Ikon, suggests to buy for yourself for Valentine’s Day, as well your loved ones. Fahardo said the most popular Valentine’s Day gifts are Ikon’s colorful accessories. Fahardo’s favorite gift ideas are wallets that range from $25 to $30. The colorful wallets have skulls and other trendy prints on them. Forever 21 has inexpensive accessories such as bracelets, earrings, and necklaces ranging as cheap as $3.50 each. Embellished plastic jewelry and headbands can be found in the center of the store.

The Hallmark store has a variety of cards and other Valentine’s Day gift ideas.

Christine Torres an employee at Hallmark suggested the promotional stuffed animals and “cute cards and chocolates,” for Valentine’s Day gifts.

“They’re not like regular stuffed animals,” Torres said. “They talk. Its romantic even for adults.”

According to Torres most of the Valentine’s Day products are around $20 and the promotional teddy bear is $18 or $9.95 when you purchase three cards.

The accessory shop Claire’s had many inexpensive gift ideas. Claire’s offers accessories for as little as $2.50 to $12.50.

Jazz Gaston, employee of The Body Shop, said the most popular line of products for Valentine’s Day are strawberry scented bath products. Of the strawberry scented products, Gaston said Strawberry Body Polish is a must-have. It is her favorite because it is made from strawberry juices. The products range from $10 and up.

The Body Shop also carries a fragrance called Rougeberry.

“Rougeberry is the ultimate Valentine’s Day present for a good cause and it smells good,” Gaston said.

The Rougeberry smells like a “nice floral berry scent,” and is put on the market for five weeks to raise money to help stop HIV.

Last stop on the agenda was the stationary store Papyrus. Sterling Bell, employee at Papyrus, suggested the Love Coupons as a fun gift. The Love Coupons consist of different types of fun promises at the price of $9.95. “Dinner at your favorite restaurant…and a five minute strip tease,” Bell said.

Bell’s favorite gift is the Naughty Crossword Puzzle, priced at $12.95.

“Part crossword puzzle- part sex quiz, its hilarious,” Bell said.
