More noise from the grave
November 2, 2000
Continuing with the tradition of inspiring and talented expressions, Tupac Shakur is releasing another CD on Nov. 21.
Tupac Shakur, “The Rose That Grew From Concrete,” is a 25-track album featuring some of today’s most talented poets, hip-hop artists and actors.
Featured artists include Mos Def, Dead Prez, The Outlawz, Red Ratt, Sonia Sanchez, Nikki Giovanni, Quincy Jones, Babatunde Olantunji, Afeni Shakur and many more. Each artist is interpreting the poetry works of the late Tupac Shakur through their own style and words.
Through the power of his words, Tupac Shakur was able to touch people in their mind and soul, whether it was through his rap performances on stage and in the studio or through his poetry he wrote in private. The artists chosen to interpret his thoughts and words chose his poems from last year’s published book, “The Rose That Grew From Concrete.”
Although Shakur has passed on to another place, his words and insights still educate through his rhymes and poetry. See a local music retailer near you to purchase your copy of Tupac Shakur, “The Rose That Grew From Concrete.”
