A perfect view- Hornets get the ?best seat in the house?
October 10, 2000
So what?s with that couch at Fred Anderson Field? Turns out it?s referred to as “The Best Seat in the House” because of its obvious prime location in the end zone for a few local students. The seating arrangement is so in-depth that it allows the students to see every little detail.
“It?s absolutely great,” said criminal justice major Stephanie Angel, who had the opportunity to use the couch Sept. 29. “You are right there, up close and you get to see every play.”
Sponsored by Naturewood, a local furniture store, the couch costs nothing to students, who enter their names into a raffle for the lucky spot.
“It?s good student promotions,” said Kara Ansotegui, assistant marketing and promotions director of athletics at Sac State. “It gets the students involved in the games.”
The sign-up box is found in the University Union at the Information Desk. Winners are called before the game. The couch is the ultimate viewing area at the games. It?s also a place you have to be aware of field position of the game at all times. Angel had some advice to give for future winners who might actually be a part of the game.
“We were told to jump in back of the couch if a running back or lineman come running this way,” she said.
