Four Sac State football coaches fired

Today a school spokesman confirmed to the Sacramento Bee that Sacramento State has fired four assistant football coaches.
Among those fired was Lou Baiz, the longest-tenured coach in the Big Sky Conference who spent 17 seasons as a Hornets coach, and is a former Sac State linebacker. He also spent four years as the defensive coordinator for the Hornets.
Also let go was defensive-line coach Jon Osterhout who has spent nine seasons as a coach for Sac State and also wore a Hornets uniform as an All-American offensive lineman.
The other two coaches that were released were offensive tackles coach Robbie Case and defensive assistant Greg Sasser.
Athletic director Terry Wanless and head coach Marshall Sperbeckdeclined to comment at this time. Players were also instructed not to comment until Friday at the earliest.
