On a hot Friday afternoon, the CSUS Aquatic Center in Lake Natomas hosted Day at the Lake and invited all Sacramento State students to use the lake and rent boat equipment for free.

Despite not being able to promote the event on-campus, the Aquatic Center was pleased with the high turnout of the 91 students who came and rented equipment, Chloe Armstrong, senior health science major and employee of the Aquatic Center, said.

The Aquatic Center hosts Day at the Lake at the beginning of every semester for quite some time now, said a representative from the Center. The event promoted the Water-ski and Wakeboard Club.

The event also encouraged students to come out to the Aquatic Center and try something new like kayaking, canoeing, or using a hydro-bike.

“I’ve only been to the Aquatic Center once before this event. I’m glad to know more about the center and I want to come back soon,” Liz Redford, senior psychology major, said.

Day at the Lake gave all students a chance to get in the water and participate in aquatic sports. Beyond the event, Sac State students always can rent boat equipment at discounted prices.

The Aquatic Center also provides equipment for students and the community to do sailing, windsurfing, jet skiing and rowing. Students and the community can also rent a personal water craft.
