Hornets sweep Bears
September 22, 2007
In the second match of the season against a squad from the Big Sky Conference, the Hornets volleyball team took on the Northern Colorado Bears.
In a three game sweep (30-26, 30-22, 30-22) the Hornets increased their overall record to 13-3.
Senior middle hitter Michelle Franz is happy with the way the season is going so far.
“It was difficult to adjust to how they play compared to the other teams we’ve faced this season, but I think we did really well,” Franz said.
Franz dominated the offensive boards with 10 kills. Senior outside hitter Missie Stidham also made a mark by posting 22 kills for the match.
Stidham led the Hornets in digs with 15 for the match.
Senior Jennifer Ferguson had a rough start in the first game, but picked it up in the third game with seven kills and 13 digs for the match.
The Hornets will take on Santa Clara on Oct. 9 in the Hornets Nest.
