UPDATE Oct. 25: As of Oct. 25 afternoon Jone’s status has dropped back to “fair.”

Quran Jones, the suspect in Wednesday’s killing of Sacramento State student, Scott Hawkins, went from fair to serious condition, Friday, at UC Davis Medical Center, said spokesperson Carole Gan.

Jones is being held under guard at the medical center, and is being charged with one count of homicide and a count of attempted murder of a police officer.

Jones was taken away by ambulance from the American River Courtyard residence hall after the incident.
