Map of OneCard Discount Locations
How can you get into the athletic events on campus for free, ride the bus or light rail for free and get discounts to various restaurants and other locations? It’s easy. Just show your OneCard.
A OneCard is the Sacramento State student I.D. card that gives students the ability to access many locations on campus.
Gina Lombardo, director of OneCard and Photocopy Services, said students get free prints every semester in the Computer Lab with the use of their OneCard. The free copies are renewed automatically each semester.
“It’s going to be 200 [free prints] and that’s nice for students to print their papers and things like that out so they don’t have to use their own resources,” she said.
With a OneCard, students can ride the bus and light rail for free anywhere in Sacramento as long as they show the driver their OneCard and an up-to-date Commuter Pass.
“The only thing you need to come in each semester to get is your Commuter Pass. All you have to do is show your card to get that. There’s no charge for that,” Lombardo said.
The OneCard also allows students to load funds onto their Hornet Bucks account, which can be used around campus. Parents have the ability to deposit money into their student’s Hornet Bucks account online.
“Students create like a parent-PIN and their parent can log on and put money on there if they need it for food or books or anything like that,” she said. “The Hornet Bucks – they can pay [for] pretty much anything on campus. You can buy your parking permit with it or you can pay tuition. You can use it at the bookstore, all the eateries except for Subway, but all the other ones take it.”
Not only can a student access the Game Room, located in the University Union, but they can also check out books at the University Library with their OneCard.
Any student can purchase a OneCard at any time as long as they are registered for classes. All they have to do is go into the OneCard office located in the Brighton Hall Annex.
“We have an application. They just need to fill that out and it’s $15. We take cash, check, or charge. That’s a one-time fee that will be your card for the whole time you’re here.”
