Water cut off to University Union and the Library
February 20, 2007
The broken water pipe that cut off water to the University Union and Library has been repaired.
The pipe broke at 11 p.m. Wednesday, according to Don Tucker, the assistant director of operations for the Union. The repairs were completed around noon.
All dining establishments in the Hornet’s Nest and all restrooms have been reopened.
“It’s probably tree roots or age (that broke the pipe),” Mario Ruiz, the director of custodial and grounds services, said. “We encounter these things all the time.”
According to Ruiz, there should be no future breaks in the same location but breaks could happen at any time.
