Chrissy Martinez joined The State Hornet as a COVID-19 and higher education beat writer in spring 2021. A Tracy native, Chrissy advocates for the youth in Tracy and informs Tracy residents about local news. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a career in broadcasting and run for local office to represent the Tracy community.
Ayaana Williams, visuals editor
Ayaana Williams (she/her) is the visuals editor for The State Hornet. She is a multimedia journalist with a background in writing, broadcast, radio, film, photography and more. This is her first semester on The State Hornet staff. She was previously the features editor for The Collegian and editor-in-chief of her high school newspaper. She plans on graduating in spring 2022 and pursuing a career in broadcast media.

James Fife is the podcast editor for the State Hornet. A film major with a knack for audio editing, James is the person behind the scenes making sure the State Hornet podcast sounds top-notch. When he's not busy in the editing suite, he spends most of his free time watching the latest films and indulging in PC gaming.
