Bengals blast women’s basketball 95-78

Sacramento State Hornets lost the first of their final three road games of the season 95-78 against the Idaho State Bengals.

The Hornets are still in the playoff hunt with a 6-20 record, 4-10 in conference, whereas the Bengals’ record now 18-8, 10-4 in conference has secured a position in the playoffs.

Both teams shot well throughout the game, with the Hornets shooting 48.4 percent and the Bengals shooting 49.2 percent from the field.

Bengals’ center Natalie Doma recorded a double-double by scoring a game-high 34 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. She was one of five Bengals players to score in double-digits.

The Hornets had four players score in double-digits. Guard/forward Charday Hunt led the team in scoring with 17 points, junior center Atty Boyer and sophomore forward Erika Edwards had 14 points apiece, and freshman guard Tika Koshiyama-Diaz had a career-high 12 points.

The Hornets also committed 11 turnovers throughout the game.

The Hornets continue their road trip at 11:05 a.m. on Saturday against Weber State.
