Sacramento State’s women’s basketball team (3-23, 1-12), riding a 60-game losing streak against Div. 1 opponents, upset Montana State (18-7, 9-3), 62-60, in Bozeman, Mont. on Saturday. The win also snapped a 36-game losing streak in Big Sky Conference play and Montana State’s 23-game home wining streak.

“I’m ecstatic for the kids, especially the way they stayed positive and never gave up,” Sacramento State head coach Carolyn Jenkins told Hornetsports.com. “The team has been progressively improving all year and tonight we got over the hump.”

Junior guard Sydney Gatson led the Hornets with 17 points, while fellow guard Sarah Craig scored 16 and forward Katelyn Ciampi poured in 15.

The Bobcats were led by forward Isabel Stubbs’ 31 points and 10 rebounds.
