Hip-hop is coming to Sacramento. On Thursday, Aceyalone, Visionaries and Bus Driver will perform at Sacramento State.-

The University Union’s UNIQUE programs and Associated Students, Inc. Cultural Affairs will put on a concert with three of Los Angeles’s most powerful members of underground hip-hop.

Leading the group is Aceyalone, who began his solo career in 1995 with the critically acclaimed release of “All Balls Don’t Bounce.” Since then he has released four solo albums. His latest, “Love & Hate,” was called “a simple, straight-ahead match of excellent MC with great producers,” by John Bush of All Music Guide.

The Visionaries’ record company, Up Above Records, refers to the group as, “Six diverse and unique individuals working as a unified team that cherishes and teaches the values of love, truth and humanity through their music.” The six-member group — 2Mex, Zen, Dannu, DJ Rhettmatic, LMNO and KeyKool — has long dominated the Los Angeles underground hip-hop scene and has a reputation for putting on a powerful live show.

Bus Driver, probably one of the lesser-known artists of the three, is said to be one of the fastest-talking rappers in Los Angeles. His latest album, “Memoir of the Elephant Man,” sounds like no other hip-hop artist’s work.

The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. in the University Union Ballroom. General tickets cost $15 and $10 for Sac State students. Tickets are available at the CSUS Ticket Office at (916) 278-4323 or Tickets.com.
