Multimedia editor Kris Hall and staff writer Chris Woodard host this spooky, Halloween themed State Hornet Broadcast.

The campus is changing colors as we finally start transitioning into fall. Students are excited for the cooler weather, pumpkin pie and Halloween costumes.

The Pride Center hosted a Pride Fair on Thursday, Oct. 20. They celebrated their community with dancing and networking to create a welcoming environment for LGBTQ+ students at Sac State.

In another Sac State Says, multimedia staffer Cristian Gonzalez made a tier list of Halloween candy and movies for students to arrange. Students could not reach a consensus on whether candy corn or Three Musketeers are good or garbage.

Kris continues as multimedia editor of The State Hornet for his second semester. Kris is also a former opinion editor of The State Hornet, and of Fresno City College's Rampage. Kris is a political science and journalism major and expects to graduate in fall 2023.

Cristian Gonzalez, Multimedia Editor

Cristian Gonzalez is the multimedia editor for The State Hornet. He is a political science and journalism major and has collected AAs in hospitality management, math, and physical sciences on his way to Sac State. He is interested in incorporating his love for local music, art and food into his work.

Bram. C Martinez, staff writer

Bram C. Martinez joined The State Hornet fall 2022, transferring from American River College. He previously worked as a student reporter for two semesters at The American River Current.

Erick Salgado, multimedia reporter

Erick Salgado Garcia is entering his fifth semester at The State Hornet and his final semester at Sacramento State. He is a journalism major with a minor in film studies. Erick is from the Bay Area and hopes to help out local communities and direct a documentary.

Gavin Hudson, newsletter editor

Gavin Hudson holds high aspirations to be a film critic. Writing about film gives him purpose and passion for the future. He is currently pursuing a bachelor's in journalism while working for assorted publications like IGN and Solving Sacramento.

William Duvall, news reporter

Will Duvall is a fourth-year journalism major. He joined The State Hornet in fall 2022. Duvall aspires to write and document about different cultures worldwide after graduation.

Raymond Purscell, staff writer

Raymond Purscell was born and raised in Sacramento, California. He is a senior and a journalism major. It is his first time participating in a publication.

Chris Woodard joined The State Hornet in 2022 as a third-year transfer student. He previously worked as the editor-in-chief of Cosumnes River College’s publication, The Connection. He is a Sacramento native and hopes to cover arts & entertainment after graduating in the spring of 2024.

Monserrat (Mimi) Covarrubias, staff writer

Monserrat (mimi) Covarrubias joined The State Hornet this fall 2022 semester. She is a fourth-year student and will be working with the diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) section. She is very excited to work and create new connections this semester.
