Former Sacramento State men’s basketball player John Dickson was picked by the Bakersfield Jam in this weekend’s NBA Development League draft.

Dickson, a forward, was taken by Bakersfield in the third round with the 55th overall pick. After playing for the Hornets from 2009 to 2013, Dickson played in various countries oversea, including Australia.

In his Sac State career, Dickson played in 115 consecutive games and scored 1,313 points. He is the second program alumnus ever drafted to the D-League. The first was Jameel Pugh, picked by the Dakota Wizards 68th overall in 2006.

Bakersfield tips off Friday, Nov. 13, a week after the Hornets play their first exhibition game of the season.
