Women’s soccer loses third straight

The Sacramento State women’s soccer team continued their struggles on the road losing to Weber State University 4-2 on Friday.

In the Big Sky Conference Sac State is 2-3, and overall they are 4-9.

Sac State outshot Weber State 18-16, but the Wildcats had the shot on goal advantage at 8-7.

Weber State took an early lead when Morgan Quarnberg scored the first goal of the game in the second minute.

In the 32nd minute, Stacy Bair scored a goal for the Wildcats.

In the second half, midfielder Lydia Bowman scored Sac State’s first goal in the 52nd minute of the game and forward Kayla Collins earned an assist.

Chansi Crompton scored the fourth goal for Weber State in the 65th minute.

In the 89th minute a foul was called against Weber State in the box and Sac State’s defender Regan Smithers scored on the ensuing penalty kick.

Sac State had the 9-0 advantage on corner kicks.

Junior midfielder Jennifer Lum led the team with four shots.

Sac State will travel to play at Idaho State University on Sunday, Oct. 11.
