Women’s soccer loses 1-0 at Nevada

The Sacramento State women’s soccer team was defeated by the University of Nevada by a 1-0 score on Friday evening.

Nevada scored in the first five minutes, and the Hornets were never able to recover. That was the only shot on goal in the first half for both teams. By the end of the game Sac State totaled eight shots and Nevada had nine.

Junior Jennifer Lum led Sac State with three shots taken. She had the first shot on goal for the Hornets.

In the second half, Sac State had six shots while Nevada had five.

Nevada had a total of nine corner kicks while the Hornets only had two.

Kelsey Quintos, Nevada’s goalkeeper, had a total of five saves and Sac State’s Destiny Butcher had two saves.

Sac State will host defending Big Sky Conference champion Northern Arizona University next Friday at 4 p.m.
