Every now and then artists drop hit songs that get played on every radio station, songs that are bound to become ingrained in your head for months to come.

Twenty-eight year old Angelique Meunier, better known as DJ Havana Brown, did just that.

In April 2011, Meunier released her single “We Run The Night” in her home of Australia. The song peaked at number five on the Australian Recording Industry Association singles chart, and was soon certified platinum by ARIA.

Listeners in the U.S. got their first taste of the track back in September 2011 once musical producer Nadir Khayat, professionally known as RedOne, got hold of the song.

RedOne’s remix featured rapper Pitbull, and soon after its U.S. debut, the dance track quickly made its way to No. 26 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the U.S. Hot Dance Club Songs chart.

“We Run the Night” went on to become a quadruple-platinum hit and sold 2.5 million copies worldwide.

After touring around the world – from Miami to Tokyo − with numerous artists and an EP release, DJ Havana Brown fans finally got an official studio album release titled “Flashing Lights.”

The album “Flashing Lights” has all of the sounds listeners would expect from an artist who is topping club song charts – heavy up-tempo beats to keep dancers on the dance floor.

Featuring collaborations from Pit Bull, R3hab, Prophet and Afrojack, the album is full of club-ready tracks and that’s probably where they need to stay.

The beats are so pumped up that it’s a must to be in a party mood when listening to the album – the music may be a substitute for morning coffee because this album will make listeners alert in the morning.

Once fans get themselves in the mood for this album, they will discover a few addicting tracks.

“Flashing Lights” is one of the mellower dance songs featured on the album. It has made its way to No.3 on Billboard’s Top Dance/Club Play Songs list this month.

In one of the more addicting fast paced songs on the album, “Last Night,” Brown and Afrojack describe a night they can’t believe happened.

DJ Havana Brown sings, “I can’t believe what we did last night, I wanna say oh my god that was so much fun,” then the next thing you know Afrojack chimes in with the beat saying “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas; What happens in Miami…never happened.”

One can only imagine the trouble those two are promoting in this song, but the song is put together so well the lyrics hardly matter.

That’s how it is with most of the songs on “Flashing Lights.” DJ Havana Brown certainly did her job on her debut album, packing it with dance tracks that will live on forever in clubs around the world.

Not very many DJ’s can say they’ve done the same.
