With finals around the corner, the Sacramento State Hornet Bookstore revs up for its annual Spring Festival and Sale tomorrow at 11 a.m.

“This is the last big sale of the school year,” said General Merchandise Manager Susan Gallo. “We’re offering 20% off school logo merchandise, which includes clothing, hats, backpacks and gift items. It’s a great time to get your Sac State gear.“

The success of the sale last year inspired the bookstore to do the event annually, with this being it’s second year running.

“Apparel items are expected to do very well for this sale.” Gallo said. “Especially items like hooded sweatshirts, t-shirts and tank tops.”

Summer weather is here and Gallo said she is confident that the tank tops will be a hot commodity and will sell quickly.

“I for sure will be looking for the good clothes I can work out in,” said junior theater major Russell Dow. “I’m looking for tanks, water bottles, towels or anything of that sort.”

In regards to the festival, Gallo is looking forward to entertain all those who come to the bookstore and participate in the festivities.

“We are pleased to have some of our campus and vendor partners participating in the festival,” Gallo said. “For example, Pepsi will be offering free samples and “Pinky Star The Clown” will be there with free face painting and decals.  She was very popular with the students last year and we expect that she’ll make some fans this year as well. Also there will be free games and prizes.”

The employees of the bookstore look forward to providing this event for the sac state community.

“This is an exciting event that we like preparing for,” said bookstore director Pam Parsons. “We know everyone likes discounts and we are happy to provide them along with a fun festival.”

Students and faculty can expect to see music, games, prizes, snow cones, Pepsi product samples, face painting and more. There is also word of a possible special guest too.

The Bookstore is open from 7:30 am to 7:00 p.m. and the festival will be set up outside from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Discounts are offered all day.
