A Sacramento State sorority held a pasta feed on Wednesday to raise money towards the finding of a missing Bay Area teen Sierra LaMar.

With approximately 300 people in attendance the fundraiser raised approximately $2,700 for the Sierra LaMar Fund.

LaMar, 15, disappeared from Morgan Hill on March 16. She was last seen around 6 a.m. when she left home to catch a bus to her school.

LaMarā€™s sister Danielle is a Sac State student and member of host sorority Phi Sigma Sigma.

Danielleā€™s big sorority sister and senior biology major Brianna Waterstradt said she organized the event after Danielleā€™s boyfriend mentioned the Sierra LaMar Fund.

ā€œI told him that we all just wanted to do something to help, but we didnā€™t know what to do,ā€ Waterstradt said. ā€œHe said the family is coming up with a fund and it spiraled from there.ā€

Waterstradt said the number of attendees was more than expected with a lot of people going in and out throughout the night.

ā€œThe turnout was wonderful,ā€ Waterstradt said. ā€œWe had 150 seats and when I ate I had to sit on the floor.ā€

Waterstradt said Danielle was able to attend the event.

ā€œDanielle really appreciated it,ā€ Waterstradt said. ā€œShe got to go and see everybody there.ā€
