We have all had a pet that we have loved dearly. Whether it was a goldfish, a kitty cat or a puppy, pets are just great to take care of and watch grow.

In the Disney movie “Bolt,” a super dog (John Travolta) who is cast in the light of Hollywood, lives on a show where he is a powerful dog to his owner and co-star Penny (Miley Cyrus).

The dog possesses mighty powers but unbeknownst to him, it is only on the show and not in real life. When Bolt escapes from set to look for Penny who was mysteriously taken (on the show by an evil villain), Bolt thinks she really is in danger and sets out on a journey to find her.

Bolt ends up in New York, where he must find his way back to sunny California to be reunited with Penny.

During his journey, he is able to learn how to grow as a real dog with the help of his new found friends Mittens (Susie Essman) and Rhino (Mark Walton).

Through all of these three characters we see how Bolt changes from “super dog” to “man’s best friend.”

I found myself in the move anxious to see if the dog would ever make it home to his owner.

One of my favorite lines was, “I eat danger for breakfast!” from the tenacious and comedic Rhino the hamster. With lines like that the film definitely kept the audience laughing. Around me I could hear little giggles from children who were in the same boat as myself – enjoying the movie.

The most laughter came whenever Rhino would speak. The New York pigeons came off as realistic New Yorkers and I thought the accents of the animals were a good laugh.

“Bolt” contains laughter, entertainment and even as that classic Disney heart-warming. I confess that the “heart-warming” moment almost made me cry – almost.

If you want to see yet another well-done Disney move, go see “Bolt” it is sure to meet your expectations.
