The Sacramento State women’s tennis team defeated Northern Arizona 4-0 in the Big Sky Conference Championship Sunday at Gold River Racquet Club in Sacramento. With the victory the Hornets earned their seventh consecutive conference championship and will move on to the NCAA Tournament. The team’s overall record improves to 21-6 overall.

After winning the doubles point with victories in the No. 1 and No. 3 matches, sophomore Katrina Zheltova and juniors Anastassia Lyssenko and Joyce Martinez Gutierrez won singles matches to seal the title. Zheltova and Martinez were the only Hornets with victories in both matches during the tournament.

Juniors Karina Jarlkaganova and Anastassia Lyssenko and sophomore Aileen Tsan won at least one match and were leading in another before victories were secured and their matches ended.
