Sac State men’s tennis clinches conference regular season championship with 6-1 thrashing of Portland State

The Sacramento State men’s tennis team clinched the Big Sky regular season title with a 6-1 victory over Portland State Saturday in Sacramento.

Junior Sven-David Rueff, sophomores Anton Stryhas and Holden Ching and freshmen Kiryl Harbatsiuk and Artur Klimenka were victors in single play.

The Hornets swept doubles play by scores of 8-1 in the No. 1 match and 8-2 in the No. 2 and No. 3 matches.

Every singles win came in two sets as several Hornets extended winning streaks. Stryhas won his 18th match in a row, Rueff his tenth and Klimenka his ninth.

The Hornets are finished with season play and begin the Big Sky Tournament April 25 at Gold River Racquet Club in Sacramento. It will last through April 27.
