Men’s tennis victorious in first conference tilt

The Sacramento State men’s tennis team was victorious in the first Big Sky Conference match of the season. The Hornets defeated Northern Arizona 6-1 Saturday in Flagstaff, Ariz.

Junior Sven-David Rueff, sophomores Anton Stryhas and Holden Ching and freshmen Kiryl Harbatsiuk and Artur Klimenka won five of the six matches in singles play.

Harbatsiuk and Stryhas were victors in the No. 1 doubles match 8-6 while Klimenka and Rueff were victors in the No. 3 match 9-8.

The Hornets are now 7-7 overall and 1-0 in the Big Sky Conference. The team’s next match is Sunday at Northern Colorado.
